"When I get older I am going to travel the world to help people and animals"Kristin - Age 6
Many have asked me how we came up with our name. Kristin and I originally were going to call it the "Kristin Kares Foundation" when we had planned to start it by having a huge baking party before Christmas and then send the baking to the troops overseas to let them know "Kristin Kares". Circumstances prevented us from starting it before she passed. However, before she did pass, we thought of another name together "Kristin Kares Klub Foundation". Kristin was a 12 year old girl who was going to have her friends help her start her foundation, so making it a Klub just made sense and spelling that with a K also made it easier to ensure it would be an original name to register. The "Humanitarian" is the description of who and what we are and was required to have the name legally registered. I have honoured my daughter's wishes by keeping true to the name we agreed upon and I think she would be very happy with that.
Taylor Lambie is an amazing young lady who selflessly does acts of kindness to help humanity! On May 3, 2014 I was thankful to be able to attend the Youth of Distinction Awards (YODA) by Youth Central (sponsored by Shaw tv & ConocoPhillips) at the Zoo. Taylor had been nominated by her sister Amanda for the Volunteerism award. Taylor was 1 of 3 chosen out of 100's for this award...and she won! She was the 1st recipient of our Kristin Rothweiler Individual Outstanding Humanitarian Award at Monsignor JS Smith school and has consistently done Acts of Kindness on behalf of our Klub by baking & making home made cards for the Firemen & Police at Christmas (for me too!), for Mayor Nenshi & Firemen after the Floods as a Thank You, she has saved her money and donated to Christmas Hampers, made Valentine's cards for Made by Momma & Adopt a Grandparent Society, she even travelled to Costa Rica for her 16th birthday to participate in a Habitat for Humanity House build. Taylor also plans to bake cookies for the 3 Fire Departments who responded to our house fire on March 29, 2014. Taylor also came to my families aid after our fire to bring Sheldon a backpack & school supplies as well as to help Sheldon's school, Bishop Grandin, do a gift card fundraiser for him. Taylor is now saving up and will be travelling to Kenya with Free the Children to Volunteer her time for 3 weeks in August. I am so proud & honored to know her, she is truly making a difference in the world and demonstrates what one young person is capable of doing with a pure heart & good intentions! Way to go Taylor! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmSAA79hMkA&feature=share&list=PLlnHeAABtRaOVbNrXMhNtqwDh_0JNMOpj&index=9
Personal Thank You from Mayor Nenshi
"To everyone at the Kristin Kares Klub: Thank you for dropping off the yummy baked goods and for giving me the opportunity to learn more about the amazing work you do! Keep up the great work - I know Kristin would be proud! Naheed Nenshi"
in response to our recent Kristin Kares Klub Flood Thank You Act of Kindness that our Outstanding Humanitarian Taylor Lambie
thought of & planned out, where she made homemade Thank You cards, cookies & brownies for the RCMP, Firemen, Mayor Nenshi & Calgary Humane Society.Brenden Indigo Rothweiler
& I enjoyed travelling with Taylor & her friend Christine on Mon. Aug. 26, 2013 to do this Act of Kindness in High River & Calgary. We were thanking Mayor Nenshi for his incredible leadership throughout our recent flood.
It never ceases to amaze me how things come full circle...it was two years ago when I volunteered with a young girl on the Dreams Take Flight trip (Oct. 2011) & Mayor Nenshi was with us on the trip. My Cinderella group sat just behind him in first class & he came to talk to the children. We were on his bus and I personally had the honor to see his kindness. The young girl I was with had misplaced her City pin from him so I took her to him and asked him for another. He walked the young girl & myself to a table to give her another one and both the young girl & I were very thankful. This was the Kristin Kares Klub very 1st Act of Kindness where we donated Mickey Mouse ears for all 138 children on the trip with their names personalized in Blue in Honor of Kristin's favourite colour. Kristin is happy & proud and we are Thankful for everyone who supports & believes in Kristin's Dream!!! (4 photos)

THANK YOU TO Steve Morris of Morris Design Studios for putting his Heart in It by designing our Logo and Event Stamp for our Klub with his gifts and talents. Steve had never even met Kristin but was happy to help us out and was inspired to do so by his parents, Dar & Steve Morris (Vintage Catering Group Calgary, AB.), who did know Kristin and saw how amazing & helpful she was from a young age as a volunteer by my side. They called her my"Mini Me". THANK YOU to the Morris Family for their love & support!
You can think of ways to offer your skills, services, time and knowledge to help us throughout our journey and through the building and eventual operation of our facility.

Documentary by Cameron Sullivan: Thank you Cam for putting your heart in it and doing such an amazing job of telling part of Kristin's story! Thank you to Cam's sister Jane who was a good friend of Kristin's for suggesting the idea to your brother! Thank you to Andy Friday and the Band Perry for personally giving us permission to use their song "If I Die Young" which is truly "Kristin's Song" and is like they wrote it just for her.
